Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology tape is a flexible adhesive tape applied to the skin to provide sensory feedback and light support without rigidly restricting movement. At HealthCore Chiropractic & Rehab in Redmond, taping is performed by rehabilitation specialist Tom Galvin, who is certified in RockTape Functional Movement Techniques (FMT).

Kinesiology taping may be used for temporary support around areas such as the shoulders, knees, ankles, back, and other muscles or joints. Patients may use it while recovering from an injury, returning to activity, completing rehabilitation exercises, or managing discomfort during work or sports.

At HealthCore, kinesiology taping is not treated as a standalone solution. When appropriate, Tom incorporates it into a broader plan that may include guided rehabilitation exercises and chiropractic care recommended by Dr. Eric Hayden.

Every patient responds differently to kinesiology tape. Tom explains what to expect, how long to wear it, and how to remove it properly. Patients should mention any adhesive allergies or skin sensitivities before application and remove the tape if irritation develops.
